This is one of those movies I went into not having a clue what it was about or who was in it. I wanted to see a movie and it was the only one starting when I walked into the theater.
It started out slowly and the limited variety of ages in the actors (they were all older...much older) made me wary that I was in for a boring hour and a half. Surprisingly though, after 30 minutes I really started enjoying it. It was just silly. The idea of this entire harbor of people getting together to lie to a young doctor, so he would stay, and then they would get this contract from an oil company to get a factory, which would give them all jobs again, was just plain ridiculous.
The lengths they went to make the doctor happy were great. They hid money for him to find, made his favorite meals at the local restaurant, listened to jazz, and all pretended to like and play cricket.
This was a great walk-in show.
